Preppy Look

The preppy look for guys is back! It's been spotted around more than once around in my area. Not only because it's golf season but because it looks good. Wheater it's a polo shirt or a button down shirt it looks good. Most guys wear it with the casual sorts in the summer or with some dress pants and even casual pants they could roll up a bit. Also the shoes are quite the important factor in all of this. From lacoste, uggs and just plain out dress shoes it all goes well with these outfits. I found out 8 good tips for a guy on how to be preppy, here it is:
  1. Wear respeectable name clothes such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, The North Face, American Eagle and more.
  2. Look at Rugby shirts with chinos light colors and shirts that make you look preppy.
  3. Shop for Clothes that come in classic colors, although this is by no means a definitive list: pink, sky blue, navy blue, lime green, Nantucket red, or yellow. Looking at some clothing from the brands above will probably give you a good idea. Buy clothes that have colors that match well and look good on you. For example, a redhead will look better with green than pink or lavender unless he has blue eyes.
  4. Develop a comfortable but clean look. Find classic looking belts, preferably tan/light brown. Make sure the belt is leather if it is a dress belt, and canvas with leather tips if it is for casual occasions. Make sure it is not covered in little taggy bits or studs etc
  5. Wear leather moccasins, and boat shoes (top-siders) or leather flip flops in the summer. Wearing a pair of top-siders without socks is classic preppy.
  6. Keep simple hair. A common preppy hairstyle is the shaggy look or the fluffy look, or hair just parted on the side and short. Lately, many preppy guys are going away from the long hair styles and back to traditional shorter hairstyles. Think the 1940s and 1950s crop top and crew cut.Keep your lips moisturized. Chapped, cracked lips are unsightly. No unnatural hair color or shaved hair. If it is shaved, have it shaved modesty. Keep your hair looking natural! Hair gel is all right if it is done modestly, but don't overdo it.
  7. Look healthy. Get toned and take in some sun color just don't over do it. Don't burn your skin! Use sunscreen. Don't use tanning beds either. Drink lots of water, take vitamins and eat lean protein. Take excellent care of your skin (use lotion), teeth, hair and nails.
  8. Read Etiquette books. Don't laugh! Good manners is not just for girls or older men. It shows people you have had a good upbringing. Use basic politeness such as please, thank you and excuse me. Be considerate and hold doors for people. Don't wear a hat indoors. Keep your cell phone in check and put it on vibrate when you go to a public place. Never use slang or talk back or roll your eyes.

Well that's it for this entry. T'ill next time my fashionists!!

Prom

At this time of year is when lives of a 11th grader become stressful. Why? One word Prom. Girl or guy you are stressed. From getting asked all the way to picking out your shoes. May have already had their prom but mine is coming up in a few weeks. I beleive that just about everyone has gotten their main parts of their prom outfit. Either there dress or tux. But many haven't gotten the litte accessories, bow tie/tie, corsage, made a hair appointment or even bought or have shoes for the occasion. Everything most likely needs to match. you don't want a yellow dress then you have highlighter green shoes with it. It wouldn't make sense and you'd look like a complete fool. Nobody wants to look like a fool on their prom day. It's one of the most memorable moments that nobody forgets. You need to come in with a BOOM and leave with a BANG. Luckily I have my prom dress and shoes but I do not know what accessories to put with it but I'll figure that out soon enough though. I'm also very late on my hair appointment, not only for prom but for convication. I need to get on that or else I'll be a hot mess. I'm looking forward for my prom with a date or not. I hope that all you guys are as well. I'll update my blog with a picture of my dress soon enough. T'ill next time readers and bloggers. Also if you have any suggestions on any fashion topics don't be shy to leave me a message. I don't bite. ;)

An Original De Angelis

This was created by a 19 year old fashion designer in college studying fashion. I don't know what inspired her but I find this is a good creation for her first year. It has colour and it's not to scandulous. I like how the blue comees out on the side in the front of the dress also the neck lining isn't to high nor to low. This would be a perfect party dress and maybe a good cocktail dress depending on how you accessories it. In this photo it's only showing off the dress in different angles she isn't necessarily advertissing it.To think she made this out of material that was around the house. It's quite incredible on what you could do with dedication and devotion. This girl also made a pair of shorts I'll be talking about next blog entry that also look fabulous for summer. This girl is actually my sister and she has terrific style with an open mind I know she is going to go far as well. I wouldn't be surprised if she started her own line in the future. Anyways t'ill next time my fashion readers!

Fashion Don't

A fashion crime that that started in the 70’s and will not die…  A scourge on the necks of middle-aged men the world over…  A blight on Casual Fridays all over the land…  Behold, the open collar with a gold chain.
What the wearer thinks of as a look that says “breezy, sexy, casual and cool guy” is actually a display that makes anybody under 35 think “greasy lecherous uncle”.
ps.  Just because you’re wearing that chain with a 10 karat gold charm that says #1 DAD doesn’t mean we want to see it.  Keep it buttoned up, pops.

Dear Pants Tucked Into Boots,
Listen, it’s not you, it’s me.  Maybe we can be friends?
It’s you.  You’re ugly. Please go away.

True Story

It speaks for itself.

Fashion Don't

I see this on the runway and I want to get it... NOO, I see this on the runway and I want to runaway from it!
